THE SCHOOL

South Eastern Railway Mixed Higher Secondary school, English Medium, Chakradharpur, acknowledged
as one of the oldest educational institutions of India, was institutionalized way back in 1894 . 

 

At inception, the name of S.E.Rly. M.H.S.S(E/M),CKP was Anglo Indian European School .

​

S .E .Railway MHSS (E/M), CKP , has been the proud possession of the town Chakradharpur, the symbol of cultural & intellectual identity of the place.

​

The school abides by the rules & regulations of the Indian Railways. It is affiliated to the CISCE, New Delhi. It prepares the students for the certificates of ICSE & ISC exams. Students are taught from I to XII.

​

It aims at inculcating habits of virtue and discipline and cherish fidelity to their duties & responsibilities, to foster an on-going urge to reflect and adopt leadership roles for the society, country and the world at large.

The characteristic which distinguishes the S.E.Rly. MHSS/ (E/M), Chakradharpur is the guarantee of teacher, parent and students' interaction which helps us to understand the students. This makes it possible for the teachers to give students their guidance; support and encouragement that they need to overcome weaknesses. It envisages a bright future of the child.

The school teaching enhances students learning by affectively & innovatively integrating technology supported learning into the school curriculum & subject teaching.

We believe in generating a conducive learning environment for our students by fostering transparency in all the aspects of teaching – learning process. A team of efficient facilitators shoulder the collective responsibility of imparting educative lessons to the budding citizens of tomorrow to ensure the overall development of the child.

We believe in a classroom which is student-centric. A teacher should be facilitator. A proactive approach to classroom management focuses on structuring and organizing the classroom in ways that create a positive physical and emotional environment. CCTV Cameras and Smart Classes are the integral part of the classroom teaching.

The mental health and well-being of our children require our attention. We understand that the school plays a crucial role in the development of cognitive, linguistic, social, emotional and moral aptitude and competencies in our children. Childhood and adolescence is a time when they realize who they are and what would they like to be? It is a time to carve their identities, attitudes and values. According to the national curriculum framework 2005, the aims of education envisage imparting social values and life skills along with academics. In today’s fast changing, competitive world, it is imperative for us to enable our children to make sense of life to pursue a purpose and recognize the right of others. We understand the development of self-esteem and ethics, the need to cultivate children’s creativity, the desire to live in harmony with oneself and with one’s natural and social environment. in accordance with this philosophy, we counsel to impart life skills to the students to make them realize their strengths and weaknesses in order to meet the demands and face the challenges of everyday life, through various group and individual counseling sessions .

Our endeavor is to promote healthy and harmonious growth of a child to give able-minded and competent citizens to the society, who lives a productive life in order to pursue a purpose.
